Sigma has announced a new 20mm f/1.4 HSM lens that will be a member of their prestigious Art lineup. The other Art prime lenses recently introduced by Sigma have received rave reviews and have earned a place in many professional photographers bags as dependable, superior quality optics. I am anxious to see if the 20mm f/1.4 lives up to the reputation of the other Art lenses. Kudos to Sigma for taking on such an amazing feat as creating a 20mm f/1.4 full-frame compatible lens! The Sigma 20mm f/1.4 HSM Art lens is expected to begin shipping in Mid November, 2015 and will sell for $899. Read more Sigma adds 20mm f/1.4 to Art Lens Prime Lineup ›

I love to photograph lightning, but it is one of the hardest subjects I shoot. It seems like most of the time the storm has either ended or moved away when I get to a shooting location. I feel like I’m chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Read more How to Photograph Lightning ›
Sony surprised us with the announcement of the new A7s Mark II body. Most of us were expecting the announcement of the A6000 replacement, but this camera also makes sense since the other two A7 models have recently been updated. Like the A7II and the A7RII, the new A7s adds the 5-axis image stabilization, and maintains the high ISO performance of the A7s model. This model also adds 4k Video recording to it’s list of features. The A7sII will be available in October for $2,999. Read more Sony A7s Mark II Announced ›
The Sony A6000 is currently on sale for $599 with the 16-50mm kit lens, $749 with the 16-50mm and 55-210mm kit lens combo, and $449 for the body only option. This is a GREAT camera and the new price makes this an even better deal! I own one and love it! This is my “go everywhere” system since my Canon EOS 6D is sometimes a little too big to take everywhere. I don’t know how long this deal will last, there is a lot of speculation that Sony may be getting ready to announce the successor to the A6000. Unless the new camera comes out at the same price, which is highly doubtful, this is still a great deal on a fantastic camera. Be sure to check out my review of the Sony A6000. The Histogram is one of the most useful tools on your camera once you understand how it works. This simple graph can give you a good deal of information about the picture you just took, especially when outdoors and your LCD screen is hard to see clearly. The histogram is also one of the most widely misunderstood features of your camera, but this article will help you to understand how to interpret what it is telling you.
